Welsh at Work
Learning Welsh creates new opportunities for organisations and their staff. More and more customers want their services delivered in Welsh, and research shows that employees with bilingual skills are more likely to earn a salary 8-10% higher than workers without.
Indeed, more and more employers in Wales view the Welsh language as a valuable skill for the workplace, especially within the public sector, where there is a statutory requirement and demand for a bilingual service. The North Wales Welsh for Adults Centre has developed courses specifically for organisations wanting to enhance the language skills of their staff. This means that staff can share the enjoyment and challenges of learning with workmates and colleagues.
